The Naskapi residence is located in the first nation of Kawawachikamach in Northern Quebec. The building groups six housing units that accommodate medical staff working in the local CLSC and their families. The six units were grouped together into one big ‘house’ to enhance the feeling of homeliness for the doctors and nurses during their stay, away from their homes.
The orientation of the building on the site and its interior layout allows each housing unit to have large living spaces oriented towards the south. At the top floor, a common room offers the residents a space to get together.
